Gulnara Shafigullina started her musical education in northeast Russia and continued in Saint-Petersburg as a pianist in the musical college named after Rimsky-Korsakov where she graduated in 2006.
From 2003 to 2009 she studied at the musical school (adult department) named by Rimsky-Korsakov as a classical singer. Her teacher was the famous opera singer Rimma Volkova.
In September 2008 Gulnara received the first prize (solo classical singing) at the International Competition in Bulgaria “Hopes, Talents, Masters”.
In February 2009 Gulnara entered the Conservatory of Amsterdam where she is studying now as a classical singer in the class of Sasja Hunnego.
In June 2011 Gulnara sang the role of Tatjana from Tchaikovsky “Evgeny Onegin” at Opera aan Zee. In September 2011 Gulnara participated in the opera project of ‘La Traviata’ for the Muziektheater Amsterdam Anniversary with the role of Violetta.
Gulnara participated in opera singing masterclasses of Aleksadrina Miltcheva, Dragomir Nenov, in the IVC ‘Belcanto Summer School’ of 2011, Udo Reinemann ‘Haydn’s and Mozart’s operas’ Masterclasses, ‘Belcanto Solti Accademia’ 2012
During the last four years Gulnara performed with opera and chamber programs in concert halls in Russia, Austria, Germany and The Netherlands. Her repertoire includes more than 100 classical arias and songs in all different styles of classical music.
